Campus Life

Campus Life Special Activities

Speaking of BNDS, students will always think of our rich and innovative school activities, such as the school’s Opening Ceremony, the Campus Singer Contest, the Carnival Day, the Red Window Fair, the Water Splashing Festival, etc. More importantly, during the events, students get to show their talents, contribute their creativity, and deeply participate in the planning and organizing of the events.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony at the beginning of each school year is a major event that students are eagerly looking forward to. The exciting atmosphere of the event, the interactive activities, and the unforgettable memories of personal experience allow students to have a beginning of school that is worth looking forward to, participating in and memorizing. With the familiar "Cuckoo Waltz" reverberating on campus, the new school year has begun, and the students have embarked on a new journey.

Carnival Day

The Carnival Day held on December 31st every year is a grand festival for teachers and students to participate. Its purpose is to express creativity, share happiness, establish harmonious teacher-student relationship, and welcome the New Year together. On this day, teachers and students can dress themselves up into various roles according to their own wishes, and join the parade, or they can go to the T-stage in the middle of the playground for a solo show, or to various game zones to win prizes. In short, on this day, teachers and students are free to enjoy the fun of carnival. This is the most favorite and most anticipated campus theme activity at BNDS.

Red Window Fair

Red Window Fair is inspired by the iconic red building on campus. At BNDS, wonderful “learning stories" take place every day in every red window. Every year on the next Friday after the college entrance exam, students will present and share their learning results with everyone at the fair, and they can also sell their products to interested teachers and schoolmates. This is a day when the whole school participates in the big fair, a day when students' works are commercialized, and a day when the BNDS students' enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and innovative thinking are fully demonstrated.

Student Rights Day

On April 1, 2018, our school held the 21st Student Congress, and the voting of the 21st Student Union Standing Committee was held. The "Measures for the Election of the Standing Committee of the 21st Student Union of BNDS" stipulates that the number of student representatives should account for 5%-10% of the total number of students, and the number of representatives did not meet the standard, which invalidated the results of the election on that day. The school immediately issued a statement of apology to all the students, and reorganized the student representative meeting on April 16, held a new election, and proposed to set April 2 as the "Student Rights Day".

Awakening Day

Awakening Day originated from Wang Chenyu's solo exhibition with the theme of "My Exploration" on May 20, 2014. When he was a sophomore in high school, his mentor noticed his love for comics and  specially opened up an area at the back of the classroom to display his works, which encouraged him to host a solo exhibition. This event awakened him and made him decide to follow the path of comic creation. Eventually, he was admitted to New York School of Visual Arts. The school has set up the “Awakening Day", which is to hope every student can find their own interests, explore their potential, set foot on the track of self-discovery, and become the best of themselves.

Multiculture Understanding Day

With the continuous progress of the internationalization of BNDS, the multiculturalism on the campus presents an ecology of continuous integration and collision. We believe that students should have a broad international vision, good communication skills and a sound conversational personality, so the school set up a Multiculture Understanding Day to cultivate students' cultural understanding of equal communication and rational conversation.

Companionship Day

June 12th is the Companionship Day at BNDS. The school attaches great importance to the creation of good relationships among peers on campus, so it has established a “Companionship Day”. Through a series of themed educational activities, students can learn to communicate with others in a humble attitude, and create an atmosphere of equality, harmony and tolerance on campus.

Gratitude Day

Taking Teachers’ Day as an opportunity, through a series of educational activities on the theme of expressing gratitude to teachers, we vigorously advocate and cultivate a culture of gratitude on BNDS campus, so that every student can learn to be grateful to others and the society.

Alumni Homecoming Day

October 1st is the school’s anniversary, and also the "Alumni Homecoming Day". BNDS values the construction of alumni culture. On October 1st every year, the school holds a series of alumni back-to-school activities to welcome the alumni back to their alma mater and relive their old friendship.

Apology Day

In the autumn of 2011, the school focused on the greening of the campus. In view of traffic regulations, large vehicles carrying trees could only enter the campus after 10 pm, but the roaring vehicles arrived at around midnight and disturbed the rest of students living on campus. The school office immediately posted two apology letters to the whole school. So this day has become the "Apology Day" of BNDS. It aims to develop students' ability to negotiate and compromise.

Huang Chenliang Day

Huang Chenliang is a Class 2007 graduate at BNDS, and a gold medalist in the 10th International Astronomy Olympiad. He not only achieved a breakthrough of China’s zero gold medal in this project, but also was the school’s first gold medalist in the International Olympiad. In 2007, with excellent grades, he enrolled in the Department of Physics of Peking University. The school names November 1st as “Huang Chenliang Day", hoping to inspire BNDS students to carry forward his spirit of hard work and innovation, and continue to write the glory of their school and motherland. At the same time, the school aims to encourage the students to cultivate a good learning attitude, pay attention to the law of study, be down-to-earth, and pursue good academic performance.
